Tiffany, go for it and explore the world of dance. If the college doesn't have classes in ballroom, check with the Parks and Recs Dept., also individual dance schools or chains. If the college doesn't have something in place now, show them there is interest (ask your friends, greek orgs., the theater dept.) and maybe they'll heir an instructor.
With your ballet training, I would suggest beginning with the smooth dances (Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango) because they will feel more familiar to your body. Then go for Latin styles or Swing which will require a different body attitude.
