Re: Arthritis.

My husband developed arthritis in his hip about 4 years ago and we are competitive dancers. He has tried physical therpy, every joint pill or vitiman on the market and really nothing has helped. Before we dance he applies "icy" to his hip and often afterwards will use a heating pad and take Aleve for pain.

Basiclly he has made the decision that he does not want to stop dancing and manages or lives with the pain. I remember once I asked him how his hip was and he told me it always hurts, that it really never goes away. When we compete we will not register for events that have large breaks in them, such as 4 hours or more, never the next day because he just cant do it. We take 3 lessons a week and on occasion he will take a week off just to rest his hip. I cant feel his pain so I just follow his lead as to what he can manage. While we are dancing it is managable for him, it is the afwerwards that is the most difficult.

Good Luck!
