Several factors involved-- Location-

Depends on the area in which you live.

Indie or Chain--Some indies can charge less than chains, from $ 40 to $ 75 per lesson ( much to do with status )

Chains-- generally sell small courses ( 10- 15 lessons ) for a beginner. they sometimes will include groups and practice sessions . Pre payment is often required, but other arrangements can be made . The price per " unit "--- $ 75-- 100-- making the group and practice. lesson about $ 20,

You might try class work first, you can choose the dances ahead of time and they will be much cheaper ( $ 10- 15 per )
Before you commit to anywhere-- ask about price stucture and any contractual obligations ( groups are not usually a problem ).
lastly-- check around to see what experience your prospective teacher has, and how long he has been teaching in the area .
