Bill. I thought some other person would have answered this. It seems most people on this site have little interest in Latin. There is only on Fan Position. For the lady it is attained by doing a Backward Walk with the LF on beats 4 1. I'm made a point here. It is a Backward Walk and not a side step. If the position is correct without any adjustment the lady should be able to do another walk backward and another if they wanted to. The hip will be on a slight diagonal but with the shoulders square to her front. The RF will be pointing to a position of about 5 inches in front of the man. The lady is ready to draw the RF to the LF on beat 2 and step out on beat 3 and continue into the Hockey Stick If that is what you wish to do. Lady on the Fan Position don't be tempted to get too far to the man's left. This is a bit hard to explain. To go to the Fan from a Cross Body lead the man can keep his hand over one position over the floor and let the lady work of it without the man extending his arm. As the man my left hand will be with the knuckles down, over a spot over my left foot or there about at hip level. I hope I have put this down in a manner that can be understood. The best thing to do is bear in mind the above and find a tape or something on youtube and study.
