Anonymous . I know now that you are refering to piddling little competitions where they make their own rules and break them whenever they feel like it. Does this have any conection with your thoughts that Amateurs could judge competitions ..
I knew it . . .

you couldn't do it.

Some key points: the reality of how cbm works in reverse turns. How a HT foot action is actually danced. Timing of body movement relative to foot movement.

Pretty basic stuff, man.

I'm beginning to understand why you value these outrageously priced "experts" so highly: your own "local" teachers suck.

You aren't making very good choices with your dance dollar and you're trying to justify your foolishness with a supercilious value system which treasures name-dropping over integrity.

Get your self an amateur partner, dude. You'd be amazed how much progress you'll make and, more importantly, how much you'll look forward to getting on the dance floor.

Good luck.

These things are only basic until you look into what they really entail.

When you do, you start to realize why top competitions end up spending so much of time getting this 'basic stuff' fixed during their lessons with leading experts.

If what an average coach could tell you about these things were all you need to do, then there would be no role for the experts. But what an average coach can tell you about them is far from what is required to do them well. That's a quest that will challenge every dancer eternally, and is why all serious competitors continue to devote so many lesson hours to improving the most "basic" actions.
