I think it is all part of the promotion machine that fuels a show like DWTS. Any hint of a couple getting overly chummy translates into tabloid coverage and Hollywood gossip TV show coverage. There have been numerous stories about Cheryl Burke and her alleged flings with dance partners, and other similar story lines pop up depending on the season and the partner pairings. It may be annoying to the pros and celebrities on the show, but the producers, investors and advertisers have to love it because it all equates to more viewers. I often wonder how the spouses of the celebrities feel about seeing their partner spending so much time in the arms of another person. I know they're supposed to be more used to that in Hollywood, but it seems like it would be a tough thing to deal with.
