This is how in Latin i was taught to Spin. Face wall. Step to the side LF
( small step ).
Do this slow. Turn 1/2 a turn to back wall by bringing the RF to the LF.
Turn half a turn to face wall and at the same time step to the left with the LF. Do not try to face the direction you are travelling Then repeat.
Even though we call this a Spin it is actally a Three Step Turn.
If this is used in the Cha after a New York. Finish facing partner before stepping into the next New York or Spot Turn.
In our practice sesions in the Studio we Spin the whole width of the hall and back again starting on the other foot
This is not a favourite practice of mine but must be done with Spotting which is fully covered on this site if you know how to find it.The video clip is of a person moving and Spotting. I suggest a look will be of great benifit to anyone including Salsa Dancers.
