PS Here's a web site that provides locations that offer dancing. One word of caution - It's not always up to date so verify before going.

The directory also has a "search by zip code" feature, which will show you the dance studios and places to go dancing nearest to you, in order of distance. If there's nothing in your immediate area, at least you'll get an idea of how far you do have to go.

Also, I know this sounds obvious, but many people these days don't think to check their local telephone directory. You might find a dance studio or two, and if any of the students or staff members go out dancing, they can probably refer you to some places to go out for a night on the town. It's amazing what you can find with a little time spent networking.

Does anybody else from Florda out there have any suggestions for msrythem?

Regards,
Jonathan Atkinson

Here are a few places for you:

Renegades in WPB (Military and Okeechobie) offers country. Sat night (7 PM to about 10-ish) is partner dancing with an emphasis toward WCS (rest is mainly Waltz, Cha and Two Step). Other nights are geared more toward line dancing.

On the 2nd Sat. of the month there's a good WCS dance at the Ritz BR on Indiantown Rd in Jupiter.

On the 3rd Sat, the swing society has their monthly dance in Hollywood but that's a bit of a ride.

Best ballroom in the area is Goldcoast BR in Coconut Creek - dancing 7 days a week. Most nights are ballroom but they offer a Club Mix Friday night (swing, hustle, salsa) and a 3 hr Salsa dance late Sunday afternoon followed by a 3 hr BR dance.

Closer to you is the Mirror BR in Lake Park but it's a thin dance and you need to go with a partner.

Check the Frday section of the local paper. The Post occasionally runs a list of dances. Sun Sentinel as well but that's generally locations around Ft. Lauderdale.
