The ISTD standard book describes the correct slip pivot action for use in both smooth and standard. Of particular note, the gentleman must release the toe of his left foot as he moves back to the right for step four. He actually rises onto the left toe to draw the lady into her her pre-pivot (off her R ball of foot), then lowers the heel, then rolls off it as he slips his right foot back.
