Dancer's protein folding team

[If you do not know what Folding@Home is read first the summary at the end.]

I have founded a team called 'Ballroom Dancers' for the Folding@Home project.
The team ID is: 41859.

I hope many dancers will join and our team will climb up to some reputable rank. This may provide some publicity.

***

There is a distributed computing project called Folding@Home which is run by Stanford researchers; its aim is to better understand protein folding.

You can donate your comuter's unused CPU cycles. The work completed is tracked on an individual and a team basis.

Hey, does this have anything to do with the software that Popular Power wrote a couple of years ago for doing this sort of thing? If so, it's really cool that the technology is still being used even though the company went under!

Also, are you the Matyas who used to live in Texas and posted to rec.arts.dance a lot?

I have never heard of Popular Power, I do not believe that they have anything to do with this project.

Yes. I still live in Austin, Texas and do some dancing. I do not post that much anymore: school, work, dance takes up all the time. Did you use to post as laura-djn? Did boolroomdancers.com become the 'leading' discussion forum?

By the way, for answers to technical questions please visit the project page or discussion forums dedicated to the issues, I do not wish to generate an off topic discussion here.
