I've been taking Ballroom dancing for about 3 months now, and to start it was the most fun i'd ever had in a class. then last night when i went to one, i was having more trouble then i ever had. i kept messing up and my partner kept asking me "what are you doing!?" and one of the more advanced students just seemed to be annoyed with my blunders, then i kept messing up in the routine we're learning... was it just a bad day or am i really not cut out to be a dancer? it got me really depressed -_- words of wisdom anyone?

It sounds like a bad day. For all you know, the person who complained was just having a bad day and happened to take it out on you.

Don't worry and focus on what you enjoy about the dancing. You'll have good days and bad days, but it's all part of the learning process. The best part is that you really seem to love it. Making mistakes is part of learning. Sometimes it will seem like you're regressing -- but that's all part of learning. Enjoy the journey and don't let a bad day (or someone else's bad day) get you down!

Thank you so much! I was really worried that maybe everything was too hard for me... I don't have as much time to practice with a partner as everybody else does, sadly... well thanks :)

As my friend said, "I'm not perfect, neither are you." No one is going to do everything exactly right all the time. In fact, none of the time. You and everyone else WILL make mistakes. Not oned dancer can tell you they have never ever messed up, either while learning a rouitne or even just practicing by yourself. About having a bad day, it happens to everyone. Like Laura said..they might have just had a bad day and every little thing was bugging them. Dont let them get to you! Keep dancing and remember that you are not perfect and you will make mistakes, but so does everyone else!
