Hi All,
I sent a copy of my posting 'The Natural Spin Turn' to one of the ISTD Technical Committee members, UK. Here is part of the reply, it reads: 'that the foot and leg DOES in fact move out of CBMP as step 5 is taken when a good dancer performs this figure.' This error is now earmarked for the next update of the ISTD book, 'The Ballroom Technique.' which, hopefully, will be published in 2006. The posting of 'The Natural Spin Turn' has only appeared on this site and is entirely my own thoughts. A copy of the E-mail received has been sent to Jonathan to prove that false information is not published on this site. Thank you dear members for the ovation, I'll take my bow now.

lluv2dance. I just came across your posting. Does that mean that in the Spin Turn, step five is a step and not just re-placement. I've had a few arguments over this one. I can understand that in the Quickstep a replacement might be the way to go because of the speed.. But not in the Waltz. Best Wishes.

Hi Don,
The only thing I would like to add to your query is that at the end of step 5 the gent's RF is forward. The foot positions in technique are given AT THE END OF THE STEP. When I give a lecture I always end by saying: Technique will show you WHAT to do but not HOW to do. When you transfer the body weight to the RF and whether it moved or not the RF will be forward. Kind regards.
