I am 16 years old and recently watched the movie "Shall we Dance?" and i absolutely loved it. It inspired me to want to take ballroom dancing lessons. I however dont know how to go about doing that. I live in Jackson, New Jersey - area code 08527. I want a place to dance with beginner classes and all. If anyone could help me that would be great thanks!

hey! im soooo happy you decided to start! Apparently that movie inspired a lot people to start dancing because my lesson teacher was promoting at the theater. he and his partner passed out business cards and free lesson offers right at the exit door of the movie, and nearly everyone took one! I live in the Dallas area, so i cant really help in finding a studio. But are you interested in private lessons or group? I would suggest both (depending on what your budget allows!) because then you can learn quicker in privates, then use and practice what you learned in the group class. But if that's the case, then you have really good dance options. Go to the following website: www.time2dance.com and check out the various teachers and places. Look for some Group lessons to start, and make sure to go dancing as often as you can.

I just spent the afternoon today dancing at the Stardust Ballroom. It's in Pennsauken, has a great floor, and since it was Sunday afternoon, it was almost empty.
