Hi everyone! I am in a bit of trouble. I need to be able to do the split by the beginning of March for a routine. What kind of stretching exercices can I do to improve my flexibility very fast??? Thanks in advance,

Hey Estrella! I know how you feel, I'm working on flexibility too. There are a couple things that you can do. One is a stretch where you lie on your stomach (prop your head in your hands)and back up towards a wall, so that you kind of "push" youself into the splits. Keep going a little farther each day and soon you'll be able to do the splits. Just remember to breathe while doing this, the more air you get to your muscles the better it will work out. Also there is a machine called i-flex. You can order ir at www.discountdance.com in the gifts and accesories section. It really helps with flexibility, which in turn helps with the splits. I've ordered from discountdance before -- some leotards, ballet slippers, a sweater and a warm-up jacket. I had no problem with them at all. My Pilates teacher orders from them all the time, too. They're based in the US so I don't see why they wouldn't ship to Canada, but you can look on their web site for a contact address and email them if you have questions about that.

Three weeks isn't a lot of time. You might be able to do it, or might not, it all depends on the degree of flexibility you currently have. Good luck to you, and be careful! It's better to not be able to do the split by March than it is to pull a groin muscle trying to rush things now!
