hey!
ok well first-when you start dancing at your new studio dont compare yourself to anyone. of course the people who HAVE been dancing since they were 3 will be very good and able to show their moves effortlessly. if you look at them and compare yourself, that will shoot your confidence and self esteem down so fast its horrible. thats what i did and iw always left feeling like i didnt achieve or learn anything. second of all, you already ballroom dance so you know you have the strength and endurance. so just go there, dont worry about the other people and have a great time! sorry i dont know anything about ballet...but just a few words of encouragement!

Don't worry too much about starting late... Misty Copeland started when she was 13 and she is now in the corps de ballet of ABT!!! Best thing I can say for you-do this for yourself, not for anyone else. When you are in class, listen to the teachers, take all of the corrections and remember them, and just try to improve yourself, not to be better than anyone else because that will only hurt your self esteem at the beginning when you are just learning. Ballet will definitely help you (I am a ballet dancer who just started ballroom dancing... so I kinda know how you feel) but assuming you aren't trying to become a ballerina, just trying to improve your ballroom dancing, have fun!!! (Just dont be disrespectful of the teacher/other students!!) Good luck!!
