I am forever searching for good music, just thought I would share some things I have found...Please feel free to add to the list

Breath - Hands to Heaven - Rumba
Sara Brightman - Hijo de la luna - V. Waltz
Terrance Trent Darby - Sign your name - Rumba
Debra Morgan - Dance With Me - Cha
Sade - Smooth Operator - Cha
No Doubt - Bathwater - Great for a showdance, changes from Tango to Swing and back
Seal - Kiss from a Rose - V. Waltz
Hewy Luis and the News - Stuck with you - Swing, most of the songs on the greatest hits album are swings, a little long but good!
A Perfect Circe - 3 Libras - V. Waltz, far from traditional but did wonders as a show dance for me
Rick Astley - Never gonna give you up - Hustle
Go-Go's - Cruel Summer - Hustle
Human League - Human - Rumba
Human League - Dont you want me - Hustle
Whitney Houstan - I'm every woman - Hustle
Celine Dion - Falling into you - Bolero

Hope this adds to someones collection!!
The first song on the list happens to be one of my favorites of all time, its a gorgeous song.

Look.....I found the old post!
So to add to it
Jennifer Lopez...new album...J Lo, a few good ones
Pure Prarie League-Amie-Swing
Alice in Chains - Heaven Beside you - Cha
Ive found that Roam by the B 52's has become my favorite swing
Extreme - Hole Hearted - Swing
Moulan Rouge Soundtrack - Lady Marmelade - Cha
Ambrosia - Life beyond L.A. - Hustle
Bonnie Rait - I cant make you love me - Rumba
Boys 2 Men - I'll make love to you - Bolero
Brenda Russell - Piano in the dark - Rumba (Q)
Brian Adams - Everything I do - Rumba/Bolero
Dead or Alive - You spin me round - You could do a hustle but its very fast, I use it for merengue
Right Said Fred - 2 sexy - Again, could be hustle but I use it as Merengue
David Bowie - Fame - Used it as a hustle in a show. A little slow, good to teach with or practice to.
For some reason I was asked to do a Tango at a "rock concert" I found out the headliner for the night was convering Jimi Hendrix so I put together a Tango using "Go ask Alice" By Jefferson Airplane, if you dance the slows over two beats to the song it fits and you would have to improvise steps the last 15 seconds of the song because it picks up to W.C. Swing
Bette Midler - to deserve you - Hustle, another show dance
David Bowie - Space Oddity - Bolero/Rumba show dance.
The Cure - Inbetween Days - Show dance(S.D.) Jive
Kenny Rogers,Dolly Parton -Islands in the Stream-Rumba (Q)
Thats all I can think of for now!

Wow! Its been so long since I have posted on here. I wanted to find the old post so I could see what music I had put here already - memory is going at such a young age. So much has been going on in my little dance world!
I am now the Coordinator for the NYC 5 Boroughs Chapter of USABDA so anyone interested please email MsKFranco@aol.com - PUH-LEASE!!!

MUSIC!

Stevie Nicks - Stand Back - Hustle
Madonna - You'll See - Rumba
Noel - Silent Morning - Hustle
Browse the "World" section of the CD store. If you can belly dance to it (which is SO much fun go take lessons!! ) then its probably a real good Samba.
Sting - When we dance - Waltz
George Michael - Jesus to a Child - Rumba
Sean Paul - Get Busy - Samba
Justin Timberlake (hate it but have to admit it) - Rock your body - Hustle
Cyndi Lauper - True Colors - Rumba
The Escape Club - Wild, Wild West - Jive
En Vogue - Hold On - Hustle (There is also a remix version that is a fun salsa)
Blue Man Group Featuring Dave Matthews - Sing Along - Foxtrot. Not exact tempo but it can be done.
I don't know if I have mentioned it before but Smooth by Santana and Rob Thomas is my FAVORITE Cha-Cha
Van Morrison - Moondance - Foxtrot.

That's all I can come up with at the moment

Sorry ... I think that pop music is mostly not usable for dancing because of the wrong rythmic.

But if you like good rumba (I think only spanish language is acceptable for rumba ... )
try this link:

http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/15/nelson_olmedillo.html

You will find some really great rumbas and some chachas. And mostly the rythm is correct; speed differs.

only my 2 cents.

Another 3 good I-SFT: "Nightingale" (Bobby Darin), & "Summer of '42" (theme, forget artist), "Blue Room" (Maguire Sisters).
Great romantic oldies for social A-Rumba:
- Much of Ben E. King/Drifters ("Stand by me", "Spanish Harlem", half-dozen other Doc Pomus tunes same era by them)
- Much of Sam Cooke
Cute old cha-cha's: Spector/Ronettes tunes ("Baby I love you", etc.)
A-FT: "Beyond the Sea" (B. Darin), "My Kind of Girl" (Matt Monro).
Hot QS/ECS: - all of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (CD "His Beautiful Wife" & etc.).
Fun Tango (A or I): Talking Heads "Once in a Lifetime", can alternate with other dances.
Snappy Cha's: All Carlos Santana (old & new).
Hot Jive: "Rockin' Robin" (original, who knows?).
WCS in a pinch: half of everything popular the Stones did.
Some More

Ok, your all probably going to think I am nuts for these next ones. My studio was doing promotions with highschools, putting on shows to get some new blood and I came up with the idea of using some not so traditional music...it did wonders!

A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras - V. Waltz
Disturbed - The Sickness - Samba
Disturbed - Bleeding - Rumba
Godsmack - Awake - Samba
Marc Anthony - Shes been good to Me - Mambo, this is the only music we used that leaned towards traditional...

Georgia Satelites - Keep your hands to yourself - W.C. Swing
Joe - I wanna know - Rumba
Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams - Cha 0r hustle
Living Colour - Cult of personality - Mambo, we leaned it more towards a Cabre, tossing every trick we could think of into it

Peter Gabriel - In your eyes - V. Waltz
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Aeroplane - Hustle
Spin Doctors - Two Princes - Mambo
Uncle Kracker - Follow Me - W.C Swing

I hope everyone doesnt think I am completely insane now!!!!

I have trouble finding good Waltz music. Most that I find are only good for Viennse - not standard waltz. Anyone have some suggestions?
