Hitting the floor in Jive

Hi. I hit the floor too hard in Jive. Is this because I'm not using enough spring in my legs? Is my weight transfer bad? Any advice would be appreciated.

Chantel. Go to variation of the week on this site. Then copy the basics. Copy the bounce and hip movement which is up on the left when moving right. Up on the right when moving left. Hip movement also on the Fallaway Rock. Right hip back replace. Keep the body weight over the front foot, don't fall back. In Jive we have what is called the A Line. That is your heads are nearer to each other than your feet. The cross piece is your right hand and arm with your partner. And never get over your heels on a Link or anytime. This causes your arm to straighten. We see it all the time when the lady pulls herself back to the man, all caused by getting too far away and dropping the weight back.

Don't kick the floor.

Let your foot land on it, then push up out of the arriving foot to trasnfer your weight onto it.
