Hello Everyone, I am asking a little silly question regarding take a breath while dancing standard. As you know, expecially Standard follwer must tone of our tammy muscle.feel reader's center..right? How people take breath? I couldn't keep tone while I am dacing even 1min40sec. I can dance very well one or two wall because I don't take breath. then I die *laugh* I took Pilates class etc. so my muscle strength is not too bad. How people keep tone for taking breath? Sound silly, but I am seriously try to resolve this problem. One teacher advise me take a breath using my back...!? oh...Please advise.

There are many areas you can expand to breathe - belly, chest, shoulders, etc. For dancing you wouldn't want to raise the shoulders, but chest breathing is good.
And belly breathing is not incompatible with having a toned center, it just takes practice to be able to do it while maintaining muscle tone.

You don't have to be dancing to practice this - you can do it sitting at your desk during the day. Heavily tone your abdominal muscles and then practice taking a full breath "against" the muscle tone. In a few days you should be able to do it.

Hi SD,
When I saw your subject name I thought, 'is that one back again'. I'll explain: only breathe in when rising and breathe out when lowering. In case you are thinking, ignore the Tango.
