what video would you recommend for a beginner to learn cha cha cha?

It depends on where you live and where you plan to go dancing. If you live in Europe, I'd go with an International Cha Cha video. In the USA, for social dancing I recommend American style, unless you plan to take lessons at a studio where they specifically teach International style.
