Hi yichen
i'm not absolutely certain which figure you're talking about, but in general, i would keep my feet parallel as much as possible. If your feet point in different directions it can look very ugly

Dear phil. Very sorry . I did not know the steps name . Now I knew that feet pointing in different direction is ugly. Thanks for advice.

Actually there are times your feet need to point in different directions. Any step where the book gives a foot alignment as "pointing" usually means that the body and the other foot are aligned differently ("facing" means the body is aligned with the subject foot).

Yichen1. It sounds like Scatter Chasses in the Quickstep. If it is this is too difficult to put into writting. Scatter chasses are done high on the toes. Don't worry about a foot positions. High on the toes will take care of that. Bear in mind the steps really move. Some times you could be going forward and others backward, or rather side ways might be a better description. I have a teaching tape with Marcus Hilton demonstrating how the Scatter Chasses should be done. I'll have a look and see if there is any difference to the above. Have a Happy time Hopping.

Hi, Don.
I like the worlds of that high toe will take care of the foot position. keep real moving. I can see my high toe as a dot. running forward , backward , or sideward accross the floor...
It is quite desirable to know what Marcus said regarding the technique of scatter chasses soon. Thanks.
