Vieneese Waltz

I have studied V.Waltz for many years and have always done the natural turn forward side close as it is described in the syllabus of BD.C and in the book by Alex Moore. I have run across several different techniques of turning but generally I turn 3/8 between 1 and 2 and 1/8 between 2 and 3. Recently I have run across a variation of the step in which step 2 instead of going to the side, goes forward and brushes the followers right leg. Has anyone seen this step before ?
Does anyone know if there is a ITSD syllabus for the V.W.?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Dom 52g. A few other figures are now allowed in the V. Waltz. Pivots are among them.

Thanks for your input on the matter. But this is not a pivot. It the natural right turn taught in a bronze level class.

Hi dom
I would do step 2 as a forward step when doing viennese waltz. It ends up 'to the side' as a result of the rotation. But i assume you're thinking of a sequence of steps performed as a series of link, or change steps, performed down the line of dance with no rotation. I've seen this recently (i think it's part of a new syllabus) and when done very well, it looks fabulous.
I don't know where to find this new syllabus. Anyone know?

Phil. If you do a search just using the word Viennese (correct spelling) you will find a mile of stuff on it. Failing that go to Dancesport Australia, and ask the Web Master Kieth Withers. He will put you right.
