Puzzled . Because you original question seems to have gone off the rails I have started afresh. You mentioned the name Eric Hancox. In those far off days it was being taught that the toe pointed to the wall, man or lady in a Natural Turn. This leads to the feet pointing one North and one South. They acutually used to slide the pointing foot after it had arrived. This with all the other had the heel of the closing step foremost. I think this is where your question was coming from. This trend didn't last long but for a while was taught.
