Since noone else has replied, here goes:

East Coast= triple, triple, rock step (6 count= 1&2, 3&4, 5,6)

Lindy= triple, rock step, triple, rock step (8 count= 1&2, 3-4, 5&6, 7-8)

West Coast, I believe, begins with a rock step, and uses either 6 count or 8 count, depending.... Perhaps usually 6 count.

Note that the triples are not triplets; that is, they are not evenly timed. The 2nd step of a triple is actually the last 1/4 of the first step.

I hope this is what you wanted....

Lindy and West Coast are both 8 count dances, infact, west coast comes from lindy directly.

I've danced both, and I argue they're the same dance, but other people will disagree with me, but you still change your weight onto the same feet on the same counts in both, so that's my argument.

Interms of which style do you do? Normally east coast is associated more with Lindy Hop, than west coast. Lindy is traditionally done to classic big band and swing music, while West Coast is done to Pop and Blues music, that's generally at a slower tempo than Lindy.
