Variation DVD and written docs

Jonathan-

I had posted on this topic before, but you didnt reply specifically to it, and the issue arose again because I am running into some difficulty on the rhythm DVD.

It would be very helpful to have on the DVD the written docs- the tables of steps- you provide online with each variation.

I cant get that with the rhythm DVD, but I am hoping you will do something about it with the smooth DVD. Also- is there any way to provide a download area on the website specifically for the variations on the rhythm dvd?

Each variation is a time-consuming chore to document. If I had had to document the entire set of variations up front, it would have been another six months before I released the first DVD. Right now I only document one variation each week as they are released on the website. And even that can prove too difficult, which is why you would sometimes see two or even three weeks between variation rotations.

I just recently decided to rerun the first 20 or so variations, in order to buy myself enough time to document the final 20 while the first 20 are re-running. Now, at least, the variation is back on a truly weekly schedule. But I don't anticipate being done with the documentation until well into 2006.

Even if the variations had been fully documented ahead of time, I'm not sure I would have included them on the Rhythm DVD. Believe it or not, the video data takes up nearly the entire disc, with only a couple of megabytes remaining. To buy myself more space for the documentation, I would have had to upgrade to the "DVD-9" standard, doubling the production cost. Physical documentation would not have fit inside the DVD sleeve.

If there's a specific variation that's giving you trouble, let me know and I'll send you the step charts -- If I have them. If not, try me again in a few more weeks to see if I've written them yet. Sorry... at the moment, that's the best I have to offer.

Jonathan-

Let me be very clear. You are doing a wonderful job!!! THANK YOU. If I offer a suggestion or request, it's only because I hope it's not going to be too much trouble. I had thought that putting the docs onto the dvd would be a simple thing, but if it isn't, well then I"ll deal with it.
