Hi Everyone!

I'm new to ballroom dance and
plan to take lessons in Latin dance.

I've noticed ballroom dancers are
in excellent fitness.

What cross training do you do?

Weight training,pilates ??????????????

Any nutrition and diet recommendations?

Thanks,

Jahra

Yoga, power yoga, pilates, swimming, running, maybe weights (have to be done right), etc. Good nutrition is good nutrition in any sense- I go for 4-6 small meals a day eating a balanced diet w/complex carbs (not refined ones), fruits, vegetables, proteins, etc and I keep myself hydrated and drink only water and fruit juice (real stuff only) and no soda.

I do Pilates, Feldenkrais, and cardio in the gym. I'm also thinking of taking up recreational ice skating.

I've been struggling with my weight for years, but now am experimenting with a mostly vegetarian 75% raw-foods diet. We'll see how it works out. It is very important to nourish youself properly without taking in excess calories.

Thank you so much for the replies!
Appreciate the suggestions
very much.

Currently I cross train with
the QFS by Gilad, along with a
ballet barre workout.

Ice skating is an excellent winter
cross train and in line skates
for summer.

Best Wishes,

J
