we are trying to understand new steps, I believe one is referred to as the double hesitation or parallel walk. I don't think these are the same thing. At this point I am so totally confused I don't know. I've searched the library and the videos I have, I really would like some explanation so I can practice before class on Tues. Can anyone help with an explanation or refer me to a source? Thanks

Hello Mary,

You did not say which dance you are working on. This is what I found on www.Google.com

Keep in mind that the parallel walk starts in closed position, goes to outside partner, and ends in closed position.

There was very limited info about the double hesitation.

The teacher will cover the steps in your next class or you can ask about them.

Regards,
DancinChicagoGuy

Variation of: Basic: Bronze 1
On the two parallel walks, I do all the moving around. Follower just keeps walking in line. Frame still faces partner, and I stay close.

Q. RF side, far enough to return to closed position
S. Slide LF to RF
