This may sound stupid, but can someone please tell me what the abbreviation CBMP stands for?

Damian 1. CBMP is Contra Body Movement Position. Mostly used when partner steps outside. Keep shoulders still and step either forward or backward across body. Partner will do the same.
CBM. The foot is still the shoulders move to a position where the foot and leg are. Roughly speaking .The leg moves on the first one. On the second one the shoulders and body move to an already placed leg.. Best of Luck.
