If you're not interested in the possibility of a relationship with the woman you spend so much time dancing with, go for it.

Tryouts are kind of like job interviews, so both people involved shouldn't take them too personally (although that can be difficult advice to follow....). Anyway, just say no. You don't need to go into any big explanation, just be polite, like "I'm sorry, but I'm going to keep looking for someone else." If you say too much, you run the risk of saying something that's really rude and hurtful. "No, I don't think this partnership will be right for me" is also a plenty good answer.

Why would it be an issue if one (or both) of the dancing partners are in a relationship? Isn't a dancing partnership for dancing only?
