Just wondering...my instructor calls the Mambo the Mamba...which is correct? Does is depend on what area of the U.S. you are in...West Coast? I always thought it was the Mambo...hence, Mambo #5, etc. If memory serves me, the mamba is some type of snake.

Help!

Hi,
You are correct in the pronunciation. Many years ago I took on a new Latin couple and I asked what dance they would like to work on. The 'Zansbaa' they replied. I told them you'll have to dance that for me I don't know that dance. In the end it turned out to be the Samba.

Funny!

Thanks for the reply.

I guess my concern is that of public humiliation for my instructor. She actually has it listed as "Mamba" on her class schedule. Mortifying...
