Any of the Modern Standard International Style . Where does a step begin, and therefore where does it end. Nothing to do with the prep step?.

Anonymous. There are many that have argued that there is no neutral position which has a count of and at the end of the second quick. Thats where the step begins and will end on an and count. On any step the moving foot must pass the standing foot and therefore must take some time. On a first step a slow, there is a 1/2 a beat to reach the passing or neutral position. So we have three halves plus the 1/2 to pass. So a step starts with the feet in line, but never coming to a halt.
