Everytime if I read something on this site I try to start from a position of complete ignorance and not to have anything presupposed before looking at a tape or DVD. Its amazing what you can see from a competition or demonstration tape. For instance top professionals the leading foot clear of the floor on Locks in Cha Cha. I used to do my uppermost to keep contact with the floor. Then when I read, I find as long as the step does touch down it must be conforming to the correct technique. It is how it touches that counts. What I am seeing is contact with the floor which than becomes like a flick this is on the step in as well as out of the Latin Cross ( Lock Step )I suppose we should remember that competitors or their teachers can write their own rules. This is for Latin. Does anyone agree or disagree with the above. But first see Slavik and Wentink and partners just for starters.
