What is the most difficult dance to learn?

New to ballroom dancing, what is the most difficult dance to learn or master? I've briefly been taught the waltz, cha cha, swing and hustle. Of these the Waltz was the easiest and swing most difficult. I can't seem to get my hips to move with my feet - least in the fashion that my teacher would like. So again my question- is one dance harder to master than another?

Samba is the hardest for many people, because it has such variety of steps. Basic waltz is easy, silver waltz can be a real challenge, but it is real nice once you get it down.

I had trouble with east coast until I read my feet should follow my hips. Moving my hip or side out and having the feet follow, really helped me in east coast swing. You might want to give that a try.

Different explanations or tips seem to work for different people. Step without weight approach really helped me with Latin.

Dennis. If you are serious about your Latin i would strongly recommend Slavik's disc on the Rumba called Inovation. On it he goes into fine detail, the Walks posture, and everything anybody would need to know.

Silver or Gold slow Foxtrot
with the gliding action, plus
staying down for the 1 & 2
count.

I agree about Samba and the
different timings.

Mambo and finding the two with
all those horns and bells.
They should change the beat
and make it optional 1 or 2
breaks.
