Hey guys. I am so frustrated! > I just recently started taking Ballroom (2 mos ago), although I have been dancing all my life (ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, etc.)I just found in casual convesation with my instructor at AM that not only did she just start working there 4 mos. ago, but that prior to that she never had ANY dance instruction of any kind!!! Oh my God!!! How can I be taught correctly by someone who can't even hear the beat and gets thrown off count on a Rumba or a hustle and then blames it on me!!! Plus they make you go to these "dance parties" supposedly so you learn the "feel" of leading all different partners. I don't want to learn how to lead every dimwit off the street, I want to become a competitive dancer. Can someone please tell me how I can find someone/someplace that is going to teach me proper techniques, show me how to go about actually joining competitions, etc.? Help me before I throw more $$$ out the door!
