What is the beat and step timing for the
Bossa Nova? Where can I get a detailed breakdown on this seemingly forgotten
dance?

Bossa Nova

It has been a long time since I done this dance probably over 30 years ago. As I remember it. I did three different styles.

First there was the Folk Dance style which was a left side, right behind, left side right point side. Then the same starting with the right. This was done to a 1, 2, 3, 4 count.

Then there was a step tap, step tap style with a 1, 2, 3, 4 count.

Then there was my favorite style which I called a triple rhythm style. The basic step went Left fwd. Right side, Left inplace, Right back Right side Left inplace. With a timing of 1&2 3&4. The foot work was ball-flat, ball, ball-flat Some where I have notes on the dance but it may take a little will to find.

I hope my memory served me well it is many years ago. This was back in the days of the Watusi, Pachanga, The Bird, The swim, The Pony, and La Bostella.

Hi Eric
Your triple rhythtm style is what I was looking for. The basic step as you
describe it is a little complicated to verbalize and I wish the old left right diagram steps could be drawn out. If you can think of a more specific description I would really appreciate
it. That is the step I'm looking for.
I certainly appreciate your help, thanks
