Hey, I have been working really hard to get on pointe and I feel like I'm only working in class. Does anybody have any ideas of what excercises I could do at home to further my dream of being on pointe?

Hi, the only advise I can give you is to do a lot of relevé. That wil make your ankles strong, and also when you are doing nothing take off your shoes and point your feet realy hard and then flex it, to develop the muscle in your feet. Hope that will help... good luck and excuse my english. Bey.

Hi,
I've been on pointe for four years now and the main thing you need is calf strength and foot/ankle strength. Both of which can and should be developed from regular classes; if you are not taking more than two a week it will take longer to get on toe. Try doing releves and eleves on one foot with the other foot behind, under the calf, in passe coupe. Also, in the centre, try a jete coupe sote to the other leg and then sote again on the leg you landed on. Make sure you point the foot you are jumping on and eventually (if not already) you will be able to completely stretch your foot in the air, off the ground.
