The Thrill of Dancing

I am a 53 year old professional latin man. I am an academician and a professional in the medical sciences. I have danced all my life and have a tremendous talent for all types of dances particularly the latin dances. In my teen years I used to be very active in drama and dance (and have won awards in drama in my years as an actor). However, there is one goal that I have not accomplished yet and that is dancing for performance and amateur competition. I would love to find a dance partner and a teacher that would train us for amateur competition and shows. I live in southeastern Ohio right at the West Virginia state line. Considering my busy professional schedule I would like to see if that would be possible. Can anyone help? Does anyone have any suggestions? It is time for me to make this unaccomplished goal a reality!

Louie,
At 51 I still have dreams of competing one day. My life is full, but I do know that once I decide to accomplish something, it will happen in time. I hope to find a partner closer to me in SE Michigan/Toledo area to practice with.

Louis -

I am 23 years old, and have been dancing for about 10 years. I am a graduate student in music at Ohio University in Athens, OH.

I have not had time to dance seriously for the last three years, and am trying to find sometone to practice with and hopefully take some lessons and compete during the upcoming year. Last year I was unable to find a partner who lived close enough to make practice a realistic possibility.

When I competed, I was in pre-champ latin and silver standard am/am and open latin pro/am.

But, as I said, it's been a few years. While I've been social dancing as much as possible, my technique likely is a little rusty.

Sorry for the novel, but I've been missing dance terribly and would love the opportunity to meet with you and dance a bit.

I'll be back in Athens July 31-August 5, then back for the rest of the year starting August 25th.

My email is a.gioscia@gmail.com

Best of luck in your search either way.
