What type of teacher do you have?

I am using a current teacher as a coach on specific things that I want to work on--especially weaknesses. His other students are primarily Pro Am ladies that he has on some type of revolving plan for upcoming competitions.
He appears to be used to teaching the only ladies. I am beginning to wonder if he is all that good for me?

A male teacher is great for awhile, but they definitely feel totally different than leading a female. Dancing with him is a another story. So, we just do technique movements or drills over and over--sort of a technique class. I practice these solo too.

I am beginning to realize that one needs a variety of teachers to help with specific things. For example, I am going to get my Pro Am lady partner to take a lesson with him while dancing with me.

My budget is 1 or sometimes 2 lessons per week. I split with a friend too and this helps get more for your money and get a bang for your buck--up to 3 or 4 lessons per week.

I am looking for a high level female to help me with some higher level movements that I want to do next.

I observed a lesson that a friend was taking for the upcoming Miami Pro Am.
She was paying and working with 3 teachers at the same time. Her regular male coach, her pro partner, and a visiting female pro coach. This added up to about $250 per hour. I have never heard or seen so many teachers working with one person at the same time. She has only been dancing 11 months and has had 3 times more lessons than I have had in 7 years of dancing.
