finding a dance

i'm 16 and tring to find a studio. the other day i called one and they said what kind of dance do i want to do. i drew a blank because i don't know any dances. can someone help me by telling me a good dance to start out with?

if you are just starting, you could possibly take a community class first, with a local community college, that teaches lots of different dances. that is what i am doing... it's pretty fun too.

It really depends on your goals. If you want to learn ballroom dancing, than rumba, waltz, swing and cha-cha are popular dances to start with. It depends a lot on what your objecvtives are. if it is ballroom dancing, the studio should have a recommended sequence of learning, starting with what they feel is best.

it seems strange that the studio did not make suggestions. We did not have an answer to that question, so they gave us theirs. Which worked out well.
