I'm blessed with a son who can dance a little foxtrot, rumba, chacha and waltz. He's getting married in a few weeks. Has any one come across a good song to dance to, preferably foxtrot? The lyrics to my favorites are inappropriate and the suggestions on the wedding websites aren't very good dance songs. Thanks.

If you do not want to purchase a Ballroom Disk I would sudjest look at songs from Frank Sanatra and such. Or you can sample songs from this website and see if anything catches you. There are LOTS of songs for foxtrot.
Hope this helps.

We use the full version of Sunrise Sunset, which is an excellent Waltz. I danced with my daughter and my son-in-law danced with his mother. Half way through, when the singer mentions his daughter getting married. We brought the bride and groom to each other. They danced the last half we each other and we danced the last half with our spouses.

For a waltz I can think of non better (considering my background) than #3 "The Musetta Waltz" on this disc:

If it doesn't show try searching "Standard Music 3" on the site.

The song is from La Boheme and takes place at the celebration at the Momus Cafe in Paris (circa 1870). The baritone is secretly in love with Musetta (who is secretly in love with him as well) but he can't say it. Musetta arrives and proceeds to flirt with every man in the cafe. All the singers take turns with this glorious melody until the baritone can't stand it any longer and bursts out with the melody declaring his love for Musetta. He sings maybe two phrases but as a baritone it sends shivers down my spine.

If you're in the Victoria, BC area we have it in our collection on my wife's partially completed website:

For foxtrots the Ballroom Mix 2 & 3 series are terrific. I'm not as happy with the new Ballroom Mix 4.
