I am looking for a place in Utah that can teach dance and choreograph so that I can get into doing competitions. Does anyone know of anywhere I can go for this?
Thanks! :)

Try the Brigham Young ballroom dance dept. and ask them to recommend someone in the area. There was a pro named Ray Blacklund that was excellent for this type of teaching--he may be still around Provo, Utah.

A few problems with that though. I am not mormon and they have standards. There are certain things I would not be able to wear, say, do, etc. that don't fit in my lifestyle and that would have me kicked out. And I live in Salt Lake City. Provo is 45 minutes away. So I'm looking for something in the Salt Lake area.

I've heard of Center Stage- but idk where that is. And if you find a place that you love, 45 minutes isn't bad- I have to drive that far to get to my studio.

Don't worry about not being a Morman. I am not a Morman either. But they have some world class teachers, classes and great work shops. You are in the best area in the USA for ballroom dancing.
I attended some high quality latin classes and they were very cool and with no restrictions.

The reason for the world class teachers being at B.Y.U. is that the Morman's really believe in ballroom dancing and fund and use it for international publicity with their dance teams. The campus probabably has about 6 ballrooms for practice. They even have high quality high school dance teams with excellent coachs. Plus, lessons are very reasonable--about 1/2 the price compared to NYC--and better quality. You are lucky to live near such high quality ballroom teachers and events. World class pros are constantly visiting your area. I wish I could live near Provo, Utah--think this a well kept secret of what all goes on in your area.
