Where to find dance shoes

I abhor my high heel shoes because they are uncomfortable. I have heard that investing in a pair of dancing shoes can be a great way to wear high heels and leave them on through the whole party. I live in the Kansas City area and was wondering if there were any stores in the area that sale professional dancing shoes. Thank you for your time

Interesting non dance use.

My wife sells shoes to her private and club students. We got a call from a local shoe store asking for dance shoes for a person with Parkinson's disease. Seems the sueded soles are reccommended to ease problems of sticking from jerky leg movements.

If you can't find what you're looking for in town, backbaydancewear.com has a huge selection of shoes online, their salespeople are very helpful over the phone, and they will take shoes back if you try them only on carpet and find they don't fit.
