Those of you who believe that on a Reverse Turn after a Feather Step the left side leads are obviously men and not ladies. Apply CBM on the first step of the Heel Turn it becomes a breeze. If the man doesn't we can't. Men I wish you would try it with and without.

Anonymous. You can do the ladies steps if asked to. Can you. I mean just Basic stuff like the Double Reverse or simply a heel turn. Then try that Reverse Heel Turn with a right shoulder leading.Not very good is it.

Guest yourself a guest lesson with a former champion actively involved in training current champions and you will probably hear one of two things:

1) Reverse CBM occurs as a slight hip action into step one while the shoulders do not rotate until close to step 2.

or

2) CBM is not used in reverse turns. The rotation is saved for step 2.

If you have not been periodically consulting with such a coach, then A) you are missing out on a lot. and B) you have no idea what you are talking about!

This teaching is so old fashioned and really dates you and your supposed world class teacher. The whole trouble with your supposed teacher is they no nothing about the collection points or neutral position That occure repeatedly through the dances.
So that I can understand where you are coming from. On one Change Step in the Waltz is there a balance point.

Exactly - there is no CBM in a reverse turn, or at least none in the topline. Any CBM used should be in the legs and hips only.

Wrong. There is quite dramatic CBM in a natural - that is how you end up with a strong left side lead there.

NATURAL AND REVERSE TURNS ARE NOT MIRROR IMAGES OF EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!
