I´m from Uruguay. This year I started with some tango classes, and I enjoy them. I think here we can take it more like part of our culture and show that tango we have

Maria,

Are there differences between the way tango is danced in Uraguay than in Argentina?

OB (who just returned to Canada yesterday from Rio de Janiero where I saw the incredible Samba show at Playtera)

I think that there is a type of Argentinean tango and another Uruguayan, but I don´t know really their differences. the Argentinean is the most common, also here in Uruguay. I would like people to call tango "rioplatense" more than "argentine" tango

Maria. If anyone wishes to know the history of the Argentine Tango. Google Paul Killick. There is the history of all the dances, plus a lot of other information. Benifits, Health and more. Good Luck.
