I am new to ballroom and my shoes (Dancefeel) have just arrived! They are very difficult to buckle and I saw somewhere a hook type thing that is used in place of the buckle...of course I can't find it anywhere now that I need it!
Does anyone know what I am talking about and if so what is it and where do I get some?

I think you're talking about the same quick release buckle we have on our ladies latin and standard shoes:

The buckle part I think you're talking about is like an inverted "u" hook. Let's use "n".

Just take the hook past the buckle and hook it over the strap. The hook will then naturally pull back under the forward part of the buckle and secure itself.

Once our ladies got used to this they tell us this is the best buckling system they've come across.
