Question: How often are suede soles to be brushed with a suede brush and what is the purpose of brushing? Thanks.

The suede is supposed to provide traction, but when you dance the suede becomes flatten and smooth. If you let this go, you can slip around an possibly get hurt. You have to brush them against the way they flatten to bring the suede up and get traction. Shoes shouldn't be overbrushed either though, or you'll just pull out pieces of suede. I brush my shoes before I wear them and make sure the suede is okay.

It depends on were you dance. If it is just in studios, than you just have to brush them to get them back up, so they are not to slippery. If you dance in public venues, you also have to deal with dirt and moisture. I brush our shoes after every dance we go to and sometimes during a dance, if they get to slippery.

If you have to deal with dirt on them, than it is good to have some less severe brushes, for getting dirt of, so they last longer.
