Where is a good place to get practice wear for men? I'm kinda new to Ballroom so I was thinking i could just buy some jazz pants but will those work for Ballroom Dancing?

For practice wear, for standard an ankle-length skirt should do the job if you don't want to buy professional practice wear (which can get pricey). The most important part is that there is enough material so that your legs can extend as far as possible without feeling like you're stretching the material. Ideally, you should be able to do the splits in the skirt I would think, although it probably doesn't NEED to be that wide. Same goes for latin really except the skirt can be much shorter - as in, above the knee ideally (maybe mid-thigh?) so that you can see what's going on with your knees when you practice :) And here you probably do want something you can do the splits in theoretically, so that you get that nice flare when you spin :) Hope that helped!

Recently I learned the importance of wearing the right thing during a lesson. I usually would wear pants. This time during a VW in full stride my heel got caught in my pant leg. Not only did I go down but brought my husband with me. My head hit the hardwood floor so hard it knocked me out for a few seconds.

Since then I have bought a 3/4 length full skirt which I wear to every lesson. I dont much care that I wear the same skirt all the time. I could of been hurt much more seriously than just a bruised ego. Actually the skirt which I found in Khols is a Liz clabourne line that is marketed for travel since it does not wrinkle. It flows great and is a great practice skirt.
