Pivot turns & cha cha walks

What level of a learning syllabus in waltz and foxtrot does an instructor teach pivot turns. Is it a silver or gold level?

Also, what level is the cha cha (4&1) when it is done with a swivel action in forward and backwards walks. Or is that how it should be taught from the beginning. Since I have started cha cha I just cross my forward leg over the opposite leg.

Thanks for explaining this to me.

Gloria. In the Cha you are describing the basic steps. If you go to Learn the Dances on your left. Then International Style Latin. then Cha Cha. Then Close Basic you will find what you need to know. If you click on the word Overview you will get a small continuouse picture. If you click on the Camera , you may need to load Quicktime, just follow the instructions and its free to get the big pictures. Look for the turn out of both feet, and you are right there is no gap between the thighs for man or lady. But you do not swivell into position even though you do turn the back foot out as you step forward. On the Back Basic look at the left heel off the floor with the foot not moving producing a nice leg line. Again look in particular at the turn out of the feet and the very straight locked knees.Have fun.
