I have learnt this week to stand correctly as the male.
If i raise my arms to shoulder height outstretched and the bring the forearms on both sdes into a right angle. The left arm raises to about eye level. The right hand will fold inwards.
If i grasp my tie with my right hand it will remain taught at all times even if i turn it will remain in the same position. My elbows both are level with the front of the ribcage.
I stretch my spine and my head looks to my left, not too far. My eyes are looking at the horizon not tilted to the side.
And last i tighten the muscles in my buttocks and they remain taught.
The ladies set up is entirely different. If any lady would like to know i can arrange it
Next week we learn to move .

Now i have to learn in the Waltz to drive that first step right to the end and making sure it is straight to the front before bringing the moving foot under the body, flex the knee and step to the side. This is the excercise we were given.
Man face diagnal to the wall. Starting on the LF Change step. Then another but at the end of the step turn 1/4 of a turn to back diagnal to the centre. That finishes six steps. Now straight back LF to the side RF close feet. This next one is where it can go wrong. The step must be straight back and turn at the end 1/4 of a turn. I must not turn into it . I must go straight back.. That finishes twelve steps. As a warm up this group is ideal on a crowded floor. Drive on every first step. after six the lady takes over. Apart from driving straight forward, it shows the lady that for two of those steps she is driving. All of the toes and heels are as in the technique books
