One step is to keep it clean. We have danced some places were you have to change to your dance shoes before going on the dance floor. Those places always have excellent floor conditions.

If it is wood, use wood treatments to protect it, but do not wax it.

Don't put that dance power on it. My number one pet peeve, is that junk.
