I am looking for the complete set of technical manuals for the 5 standard and the 5 latin dances, if I could find them used I would very happily buy them as long as they have all of the pages, I would like all of the technical manuals can find, not beginner's books, rather the manuals like the little red ones that they have here. any info will be greatly appreciated and more especially if you can include prices, contact me at bboy_denial@yahoo.com. thank you

I think you will find that the official Latin is five seperate books. The official Modern is one book.
The official book the ITDA's by Wally Laird is one book which contains all five Latin dances . My teachers uses this one. They were once pupils of Wally.

The IDTA Internation Ballroom Technique is also a single volume. It is the companion to the Laird Latin Technique, published in the same format, and has just been reprinted in a new edition. You can get it from a variety of sources, including the IDTA website.

I just ordered (and received) the books you are talking about. There is one for Standard (which includes the 5 dances) and 5 separate ones for latin (one per dance) I ordered them from this web site in the shopping section. You can also see the prices in this section.

Are you happy with these books? Can you tell me how they're set up before I order them?

Do you know where to get Laird's book? It seems to be out of print.

la fleur. If you go to Dancesport UK. Look down on the right. Go to books. Then technique on the left. You will find what you are after there. Take a tip from me. Only be interested in the Walter Laird's books. The prices are shown. Good luck.

Hi to All,
It is of my opinion that for value for money you can't beat the UKA Ballroom and Latin books. I believe the ballroom book is £12.50 and the Latin (revised addition) book is £15. The Latin book is more up to date on today's technique than on any other I've read. A point to remember when buying a technique book is that these books were not written for the 'Teach Yourself' dancing. The purpose of a technique book is for the professional student to study a list of figures which the student will then be examined on when applying for membership to that particular dance association. Use a search engine and enter, UKA, Blackpool.
